Alpaca Shearings and Lambie Pics

Last week was a busy one for me. I was skirter/sorter for Hubbert Farms, Obosheen Alpacas and Rocky Acres Alpacas. This week I am sorting and washing the 3 fleeces that I chose for myself.

I often forget names (I am better with faces) and these 4 fellows from New Brunswick did a fantastic job shearing Alpacas. Good natured and patient....I enjoyed working with them :-)

Here's Mini the guard Llama being shorn. She was good as gold and is very pretty with or without her fleece!

Jeske of Obosheen is a pretty second shear bay black (above and below). My take home fleece.

A Hubbert Farms cria being held while his Mom gets her haircut.
The oldest lambs are almost 6 weeks old. Still as sweet and cuddly as ever.
Pretty Gracie is always nibbling on my shirt or hair. Love that 62.5% Gotland face.
Pepper is also 62.5% Gotland and has the same markings...just like sire Sterling. This pic shows how they love to sit near me and get lots of hugs :-)
Becky's two daughters...Cloudy and Midnight. They are just as cuddly as their mom and are 56% Gotland.
Here's a group shot with Mini in the background. The dark lamb in the foreground is Lilly's ram lamb Ebony...56% Gotland and supercute. He's for sale BTW.
My Alpaca fleece from Hubbert Farms this year is pale fawn coloured Teddy (above). This is Teddy's third shear and it is just as gorgeous as his first and second..plus look at that crimp and long staple length.
Teddy's handspun is in a previous post being knit into the Strawberry Lace scarf.
Mini's fleece is very long and very soft. This is my first time working with Llama and it will be interesting to see how this progresses.
Lilly's finished yarn. Lilly is 37.5% Gotland and her fleece is more lustrous than her Finn mom Lacey.

How About A Giveaway??

I have been thinking about having a giveaway on my blog for a few years now but I'm never sure what I should offer.
I believe there are both spinners and knitters who read my blog. I suppose I could offer one draw for spinners and one for knitters. Any suggestions?????
