I felt inspired to knit again!! My handspun Alpaca is so gorgeous to knit with and this Strawberry Scarf (from Piecework Jan/Feb 2012) is the perfect pattern for it.
A full pound of sweet little Bailey spun into a 3 ply sportweight yarn.
Lilly's fleece in progress (above and below). The white Gotland/Finn cross gives a lustrous and silky long stapled fleece. Oh boy am I enjoying this :-)
Bunker's Shetland fleece. Five pounds of it!
My newest aquisition is Bunker....a fine covered Shetland fleece from here http://boulderneigh.blogspot.ca/. That's a full sized bottle of Perrier in the middle!
I am already washing it with Power Scour. Thought I'd compare it with my regular Blue Dawn.
As soon as Bunker's fleece is dry, on the combs it goes!!

Lambing Has Finished
Good girl Lilly :-)
Apple (above and below) fooled us into thinking she would have many lambs like last year when she gave birth to 5! Only 2 this year...a big ram lamb and a ewe lamb. Guy and Maddie.
Lacey with her quads. She's a great mom but needs a bit of help feeding all those hungry mouths.
I am happily spinning Bailey's light silver fleece. The second bobbin is almost finished and then I will comb and spin a third for a 3 ply sportweight.
Beckie with her twin ewe lambs....Midnight and Cloudy.
important. The higher percentage Gotland lambs are really gorgeous this year.
We are going to bring in two coloured Finn rams to breed this Fall. A grey Badgerface (that carries the Moorit gene) and a Moorit. Next year we will have a Swedish Gotland ram to continue with the Hubbert Farms Gotland upbreeding program. So plenty of natural coloured Finns and Gotlands for the future!! Can't wait :-)
