New Stash

Here are a few pics of my Dutch Christmas baking. This is Gevulde Spekulaas....spicey on the outside with a sweet almond filling. Gevulde Koek (pic below)...filled cookies...almond filling is homemade of course. My favs are Gevulde Amandelspijs Broodjes but those didn't turn out so well. My first attempt at homemade puff pastry was not very successful. I love, love the Dutch bakkerij!

Here is a birthday gift from my son (who also bought me two of the knitting books).
I have not had the chance to try Yak fibre even though I  bought Yak yarn in Amsterdam.
I got 2 oz of the white Yak clouds and 1 oz of the brown Yak. It is not as soft as my Cashmere but has a nice density to it. This will be blended...with what I don't know yet but I am sure there is plenty in my stash.
Selbuvotter in Raumagarn for a friend.
My new books. I plan on learning the Twined Knitting using my Z plied handspun GotlandX
yarn from the sheepies. In another month or so we will be able to tell who is pregnant! Lambies
will be due end of March!! That reminds me, I better get repairing a couple of the lambie coats :-)
My recently finished handspun Cormo yarn is knitting up beautifully into a Russian Lace scarf.
This is from Knitting Traditions Fall 2011 issue. Galina A. Khmeleva pattern.
I just ordered Knitting Traditions Winter 2011. I love Galina A. Khmeleva's Shawl pattern.
Happy Knitting!
