I Love Ravelry

This was yesterday in the parking lot of a mall in Belleville ON. I drove there with an antique CPW (Canadian Production Wheel) to meet Kim, a very nice fellow Ontario Raveler. I picked up the wheel from it's original owner who lives in my area. Kim is taking this wheel to meet it's American owner at Rhinebeck. We are members of the Wheel Rescue Group on Ravelry. The wheel will eventually live in Texas!
I finished a pair of gloves in Hubbert Farms 85%Alpaca/15%Finnwool blend yarn.
These are for a friend but I think I will make myself a pair too.
My second Ene's Scarf is in the works with my 50%Silk/50% Merino blend from the Knitter's Fair.
I have long admired these Sanquhar Scottish gloves. A fellow Raveler in the UK was kind enough to send me the pattern books from the Rural Women's Scottish Institute. There are 4 patterns in all. I have started a pair (pic below)from a pattern I already had using my Satakieli yarn and DyakCraft double points. So far I am really liking them. They are smooth and sturdy needles, which is perfect for my small gauge tight knitting style.
Another trade for fibre and yarn with a fellow Ontario Raveler below.
That's Treenway Silk's laceweight 45%Yak/55%Silk yarn. Gorgeous.
Love laceweight in red! She also sent 4 skeins of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in a pale pink colour.
For the fibre part of the trade she sent me 1/2 LB of this luscious NZ Polwarth. It's almost a Rose Grey colour which is my favourite. Ravelry is a fantastic place to do trades!
Next Wednesday, DH and I are leaving for Netherlands to visit family (twin grandsons). We will be staying until end of October so I am hoping to get a chance to visit De Afstap in Amsterdam.
They stock alot of Rowan yarns. See you next month :-)
