Preparing for Winter

I've been helping Kathy (Hubbert Farms) prepare the lower portion of the big barn for overwintering the ewes and two new Gotland rams. Sebastion has been in with the 3 mature ewes for several weeks now. He is 7 months old and seems to be pretty confident around the girls.
That leaves my Lacey and Sterling together. Sterling is quite small and Sailor was picking on him so we will keep him in with the girls until he grows bigger. Lacey is 6 months old and it's possible she will be bred by Sterling also 6 months. Sterling has silky soft fleece so I wouldn't mind some beautiful lambs from these two. Lacey's sire carries the black gene so possibly their lambs will have some colour.
Below we have Sailor the Gotland/Finn ram. He gets along really well with 6 month old Simon (Lacey's twin) so they will have their own spot for the winter. Looking good Sailor!
I don't normally have this many projects going at once but I decided this year that I want some handknits for myself too!! Above is DH's Hubbert Farms Alpaca/Bamboo blend sock.
For me......Komi mittens #8. Rauma Finull-garn for the red and white and Hubbert Farm's 85%Alpaca/15% Finnwool blend for the grey areas.
Still working on my Seasilk Daisy Meadow scarf.
Laceweight handspun Cria Alpaca/Qiviut....a 75/25 blend. Even with just 25% Qiviut, this yarn has a wonderful halo and is supersoft. This is the North Star Tam for moi :))
