Moi, taking the freshly shorn fleece and then moving it to the skirting table.
As you can see the wee ones (aka Simon and Lacey) are growing like weeds. They will be 2 weeks old this Thursday! Mom Apple is devoted to her babes.
The surprise is that Kathy
has given Lacey to me. I now have two Gotland cross ewes and one pure Finn ewe :-)

Alpaca Shearing 2010 and a Surprise!
This alpaca has her face covered because she is a spitter.
Shearing Day at Hubbert Farms began around 8 am and finished close to 8pm. Alot of teamwork goes into shearing 30+ alpacas. Teeth are filed, toes trimmed. shots given and then there's the fleece. Skirting and sorting is a labour intensive job, especially the cria and suri fleeces. (hint...that's one of the reasons why they cost alittle more)

LOL So how long until you move out to the farm now that you've got your own flock? Congrats on the the new addition!
Congratulations on the new ewe.
I would love to work on shearing day. Some people would probably think that's crazy. Being surounded by all those Alpacas is great. I know you were probably exhausted at the end of the day.
Congratulations1 I wouldn't have expected a sheep gift from your post title. The alpaca ranch here was also shearing today. One can only have so many alpaca fleeces. Step away from the fleece and no one will get hurt.
Congratulations on your new little girl!
I really enjoyed all of these shearing pictures - thank you for taking the time to photograph the event!
Gosh...there is something about that dark black fleece picture. That's my favourite. Congratulations on your new addiction to your family. :)
Wonderful for you!
Congratulations! May they grow beautiful fleece for you ;-)
Your flock is growing!
