Spinning for gloves.....

These are the two colours for my Norwegian gloves. The bay black alpaca has won many awards and the nutmeg colour alpaca won Alpaca Ontario 2008. They are both champions and their fleeces should be together :) I'm not sure which colour should be the background colour but I am leaning towards the nutmeg.
This is a cute little scarf from here http://buffalogold.net/store/content/view/20/41/.
I made one before in a medium brown handspun alpaca. This one is made from a blend of very soft and fine light fawn alpaca which has a slight halo. This pattern works beautifully with alpaca and it's so easy to make. I add the crotchet edging to make it flirty and feminine.

Beautiful Black Cria Yarn

This is definitely some of the most lustrous and soft yarn I have ever made. Equal to any cashmere or qiviut. It was so much work and there are black fleece balls in every single corner of my house along with VM but that's the price you pay for beauty. This will go off in the post along with the scarf and gloves. I won't be sad though because I have my own equally beautiful black cria fleece :)

FO'S

I have finally finished the handspun alpaca gloves and handspun alpaca/merino cable scarf! Now I just need to block them abit. The gloves are knit to have longer fingers than my own. The scarf is the perfect length for an average size woman. ( Where's a makeup artist when you need one :) I am working on spinning up the second bobbin of black cria fleece. Just another 100 grams to go! Is it just me or is anybody else getting all worked up at the the thought of shearing season? I see lots of breeders (shetland in particular) showing off those fleeces on the hoof. I dream of shetland fleece (sigh).

Complimentary Greys

Even though the gloves are pure alpaca and the scarf is alpaca/merino, I think they match pretty well. The scarf is slow because of all the cable knitting going on but hey if you like cables, then this is the scarf for you. I'm hoping I can block it out abit because it's almost folding itself in half when I lift it up. Gloves are done...just have to darn in the ends.
Bottom shot is the black cria. It's so shiney but hard to capture that in the pic. I'm not having fun combing it because it sticks to everything. My husband jokes that it even sticks to his uknowwhat. There is always fleece in our food and drink. I know it sounds yukky to some but it really adds extra flavour once you get used to it ;)

Working My Way Thru A Cria Fleece

Lots of VM in this stuff!
It combs up beautifully though.
Cat fur. ( About 2 years worth)
This grey yarn is a 3 ply alpaca/merino blend for the Tilly scarf.
